On March 15, 2022 the Bilalian Speaks and WDM Speaks YouTube channels were disabled by YouTube due to what they allege as ‘copyright infringement.’ Other YouTube channels carrying the addresses of Imam W. Deen Mohammed were also affected. This action appears to have been initiated by WDM Publications and its officers.

The establishment of these YouTube channels are directly associated with the Muslim-American Ministry for Human Salvation, under the direction of the office of Imam Earl Abdulmalik Mohammed, and due to the 12 year labor, commitment, and dedication of Imam Rafeeq Thornton Mohammed. These channels were created to preserve the teachings of Imam W. Deen Mohammed in a publicly accessible space and in an unedited form, where they could be properly valued, studied, shared, and promoted for the benefit of the Islamic community in particular and humanity in general.

For over 12 years Imam Rafeeq Thornton Mohammed dutifully and painstakingly collected, digitized, and made available to the public at no charge over 500 college speeches, public addresses, classes, and interviews of Imam W. Deen Mohammed to the publics of the world. These channels have been accessed daily on the average of 500 persons per day, every day, for over 10 years. These materials are not and will never be the personal property of any one person or organization. They are the inheritance of a community and the collective knowledge of a people. No copyright law written has the capacity to identify their worth.

It is a well known fact that during the lifetime of Imam W. Deen Mohammed he authorized several independent persons to document his public teaching and to preserve it for their responsible use. That is why WDM Publications did not own or possess these materials exclusively and why Imam Mohammed did not permit them to be held in only one hand. If they had been held, entrusted, and in the control of WDM Publications and its officers it is unlikely they would have ever been seen or mentioned in public. They would have likely been buried and/or selectively used for the enrichment of private parties and concerns.

These addresses of Imam W. Deen Mohammed, though no longer available on YouTube, remain protected and will be restored to the people and made available to the public again on a platform other than YouTube in the very near future. They will never be turned over to entities which underestimate and trivialize their value. Their integrity will be guarded with firmness by the lives and commitments of those who understand and were entrusted to succeed with and in Imam W. Deen Mohammed’s leadership and tradition.

Let it be known now and publicly, that the MAMHS and the office of Imam Earl Abdulmalik Mohammed, with its strong network of national supporters, that include Imam Rafeeq Thornton Mohammed are prepared to defend these materials and any principled public access to them and any of Imam W. Deen Mohammed’s teaching, before the authorities of any state, federal, or international tribunal and court now and in perpetuity.

We pray Allah’s Protection on the teaching and tradition of Imam W. Deen Mohammed and on the materials which preserve it and in the hearts of those who value it.
